Lovely, thank you Darcy. The point of view, coupled with this pretty choirgirl’s raised eyes and pouting lips, suggest there may be another gentleman standing in front of her, perhaps preparing to offer holy succour. I imagine that the hymn may be ‘Come Thy Fount of Every Blessing’.
I love the school cardigan and fanning pleated skirt. Also the blushing cheeks offset by big teardrops. It's a good thing that the church is just round the corner from the school, meaning that extra choir practice can be readily fitted in between the last school bell of the day and home and teatime. The indistinct but burly male figure in the roomy trousers believes in thrashing the best out of pretty young choristers at every weekday opportunity. If George is right, this fine fellow is about to share the ins and outs of the job with another upstanding parishioner.
